Solution Suggestions for Constipation and Gas Problems

Gas occurs when bacteria in your large intestine feed on carbohydrates in your stool. If you are constipated, gas may be harder to pass.

This can leave you feeling bloated and uncomfortable.

Constipation Treatment

• Drinking 8-10 glasses of liquid a day
• Preferring to eat foods with high fiber content such as vegetables, fruits, whole grain products, legumes
• Eating small amounts at frequent intervals, chewing food thoroughly
• Drinking warm water on an empty stomach in the morning
• Eating prunes, dried figs and dried apricots
• Walking and exercising
• Using medication under physician supervision if necessary
